Hazelnut Affogato

Things I love: Ice Cream, Espresso, Hazelnut Liqueur and Chocolate (okay…chocolate is unpictured but after one bite was added.)

It all started with some premium vanilla ice cream, a cookie scoop and a dream.

I took about 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream and placed them in the center of a shallow bowl. I returned the bowl to the freezer while I was making dinner so it would be SUPER frozen by the time I was ready for dessert.

I then took about 1.5 TBS Hazelnut Liqueur (Frangelico) and drizzled it over the ice cream.

And then… about 1/4 cup freshly brewed espresso!

It was hot and cold and hazelnutty. I lovedF this. After one bite, I decided that it needed a little more richness and depth and found myself digging into my stash forĀ  little piece of dark chocolate. Next time, I will add dark chocolate shavings for garnish.
