Why didn’t I go to culinary school? I ask myself this question every day. I love food. I love wine. Cookbooks are my reading material of choice. I live in my kitchen (I literally bought my apartment for the kitchen.) I named my cat Truffle. I could go on.
Homemade San Marzano Sauce, Tilapia Al Forno, Roasted Acorn Squash with Pumpkin Seed Oil, Steamed Broccoli and 2006 Kendall Jackson Pinot Noir.
Granted, these recipes are borrowed from other sources. I still enjoy experimenting with my own additions

Dinner was not to be outdone. When life gives you heavy cream, WHIP IT! I highly encourage making whipped cream from scratch. The canned “air” is no match.
Sweet Wine Poached Pear with Fresh Vanilla Whipped Cream and Blackberries.
Once upon a time my dad gave me this bottle of disgustingly sweet wine because he was never going to drink it. It’s name is “Santa’s Blush”. I was never going to drink it either and was sick of looking at this bottle in my wine rack. Solution: Poached Pears. PERFECT choice. This wine was beyond sweet. It would have been like drinking straight sugar.
Would you think it was weird if I told you that I licked every last crumb of Panko, every spot of fresh whipped cream and every plate/bowl that I used tonight clean?

That tilapia is absolutely gorgeous.
I was just thinking about culinary school the other wk and then I looked at the prices—ay chihuahua!!
Girl it is so not too late for you to go to culinary school! If that’s what you want to do, then you should go for it! You would make an amazing chef!
Education is a life long experience. Most people have several careers. How did you prepared the tilapia? Was it baked? Did Truffle get a sample? You have my vote for “The Next Food Network Star.” Love, -Mom
GO GO GO!! You should totally go t culinary school or try out for master chef. That would be amazing! Great job with the wine, I would totally do the same thing. Great minds think alike.
Can I please come over for dinner?
I actually thought the same thing when I saw your tweet about the poached pears. I figured if you aren’t a chef yet you definitely should be!!
