Piecemeal(s)

I’m “Home on the Range” again (aka my parent’s house) getting ready to move NEXT MONDAY! I have a long day of varnishing the coffee table I found on the side of the road (Score! I love when things are free!).  This post is a bit of a piecemeal production, however;  I will be in the kitchen later today ;) so more to come!

Homecoming Dinner:Grilled Tuna. Tomato, Swiss Chard and Goat Cheese Salad with Olive Oil/Balsamic. Green Beans. Corn on the Cob. Russian Jack Pinot Noir.

Summer’s Sweetest Dessert:Grilled Peach, Blueberries, Cinnamon and Vanilla Ice Cream

Breakfast of Champions:Overnight Oats: 1/2 cup Rolled Oats, 1/2 cup Vanilla Soy Milk, 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt, 1/2 of a Banana, Cinnamon, Blueberries, 1 TBS Almond Butter (Woodstock Farms Crunchy Unsalted–favorite!).

Farmer’s Market Lunch:Summer Harvest Salad (For the Olivia’s Organics Contest): 1/2 bag of Spinach, Red Lettuce, Beefsteak Tomato, Grilled Zucchini, Green Beans, Fresh Mozzarella, Olive Oil/Balsamic, Cracked Black Pepper. My salad dressing made me smile!

1/2 Whole Wheat English Muffin with Local Blackberry Jam (SO delicious cant wait to put this in Overnight Oats!)

And an apple in my NEW CAST IRON SKILLET! Remember when I said I was doing something to celebrate  my “Blog Anniversary“? I bought myself a gift! A used 9-inch cast iron skillet! You have no idea what my plans for this baby muuhhahaha. It’s going to be a fun Fall/Winter of cooking!

Kitchen Dreaming,

Nora

  1. What an awesome present to yourself! I think we all deserve to treat ourselves to presents every once in a while. ;)

hooray for cast iron skillets!! Don’t you just love new cookware and bakeware?!?! So you have to try a new wine I found. Its a shiraz. The 2007 Peter Lehmann Winess Shiraz. Just heavenly. Im not even a big shiraz fan but this was GOOD!

Hey Lindsay!! I’m not a huge Shiraz drinker either so that means a lot! I’ll have to try :) thanks for the suggestion! What’s a good food to pair?
